My name is Hoa、I'm from Viet Nam.
I'm currently studying a Filmmaking Course in the Graphic Design Department at Shizuoka Design College.
To me, my daily routine could not go on without a good cup of coffee.
So, I had decided
that for this graduate project, my main theme is going to focus on coffee.
And I would like to introduce to you a closer look at my home country's coffee culture.
In recent years, the relationship between Japan and Vietnam is growing strong.
For this package design, I picked each country's representative symbol and then combine them together.
For Japanese, koi fish is culturally symbolic. Koi fish is presented as a symbol of luck, prosperity, and good fortune in Japan.
The national flower of Vietnam, the lotus flower, which present purity, commitment, and perseverance amidst adversity.
Each symbol was drawn in Illustrator with different techniques, called Linocut (for Koi Fish) and Mandara (for Lotus Flower).
Vietnam's coffee market use only Robusta bean, which is almost double caffeine than Arabica type.
Traditionally, the Vietnamese usually drink coffee with condensed milk, and the reason will be specified on the history page of this website.
For more flavor, I will combine both coffee beans with different blend ratios.
